UNILAG SUPPLEMENTARY LIST ANALYSIS
So the merit list is out, and thankfully, many of you made it. Regretfully, however, many of you didn't. This group of people are the ones now looking to the supplementary admission list to smile. To take off a little tension, and to prepare you for what to expect, we'd be analyzing the UNILAG supplementary admission list based on past occasions.
The UNILAG merit admission list for 2013/2014 session came out late this week, and the supplementary admission for the 2013/2014 is expected around the corner anytime soon. It takes a couple of weeks after the merit list for the supplementary list to show up, at most a month. However, of recent, the supplementary list has been apt to come out after those on the first list are through with the first part of their registration. This is probably because the school would to know how many more students it can accommodate.
The supplementary list usually contains two lists: the UTME supplementary list and Direct Entry list, hence it is anticipated by many, not just the UTME students seeking admission into year one but also the Direct Entry candidates who would proceed to year two.
Let's begin with the Direct Entry list. Many students who applied for admission through A-levels, previous degrees or diplomas, and some less informed successful Foundation students were alarmed not seeing their names on the merit list. There's no cause for that, chill, the direct entry list would take care of you. Last year the direct entry list for medicine and surgery contained about 60+ names of successful foundation (diploma) students, the names are more likely to be more this year, because foundation students are through with their program and about 80 of them in Medicine were successful.
Under the foundation students, would be the A-level students, about 10, or more or less, (for medicine) of them. These are students who have completed an A-level program and have met up with the points required to study the particular course. Next is the list of students applying with previous degrees or diplomas. These too, are quite few, numbering just as much as the A-level students.
The UTME supplementary list on the other hand is what it is, a supplementary list. More students will be admitted on this list to supplement those already admitted in the first list. So, if you scored very high and feel there's hope of getting admitted, just keep your fingers crossed, pray and wait for the supplementary list to be out. Last year though, the list for Medicine contained just three names, although space was provided for five and two spaces omitted. It's likely to be the same again this year, as the merit list contains just the same number of names as last year. However, we can't say exactly, until it's out.
These analyses and speculations are based on previous lists, and not on any official info or quota. We do hope that when the list is out, those of you still waiting to rejoice, will do so, finally.

ReplyDeleteI do not know exactly why A level and degree candidates were not on the list for medicine. They were present on other departments. It's probably because the successful foundation students were much and maybe there was no space left. My advice: keep your fingers crossed, anything could happen. Same time, prepare for any eventuality, time waits for no one.
